Many people ask me "What's your story?" Which is a difficult question to answer given my life has been nothing short of a roller coaster ride. This song however attempts to shed a little light on how I grew up and where I came from. It's also about learning to accept the bad with the good in your life.
lyrics
Back in 91' our trailer burned down.
So mama moved the family to a lil old town.
Then back in 97 a flood rolled in.
So mama packed our bags for the road again.
We moved to a farm where my Mama grew up.
We didn't have a lot but we didn't need much.
I know that she did the best she could.
I do it all again yeah you know I would.
You know I would
So Take Me Back to that old dirt road
walking half a Mile in the freezing cold.
Take Me Back to my first kiss.
The moment I forgot to use my lips.
Take Me Back to that lil old town.
Everybody laughing at the class room clown.
Take Me Back to that old Farm house.
Workin all day till the sun goes down.
Till the sun goes down.
It wasn't too long before I was on my own.
Working 5 to 9 in a construction zone.
Then I found a girl and I fell in love.
We'd sit and watch the stars till the sun comes up.
I wish I knew then what I know now.
Who knows might have worked out.
I'd do it all again if I could
I'd do it all again yeah you know I would.
You know I would.
